Upgrading Water Infrastructure in Havelock-Belmont-Methuen

The Township of Havelock-Belmont-Methuen is receiving $72,123 to upgrade water infrastructure. This will support more affordable housing and long-term care beds!

Havelock-Belmont-Methuen - The Township is receiving an investment from the Government of Ontario for much-needed upgrades to their water infrastructure. Recognizing that municipalities have different infrastructure needs, the province uses a straightforward and transparent formula that examines various social and economic factors to determine funding allocations across the province.

“I want to thank MPP Smith for coming down to Havelock-Belmont-Methuen and announcing the funding we will be receiving. This is great news for HBM and will help us move ahead with some projects,” said Mayor Jim Martin. “Our Warden in Peterborough County always says we are in this together and this grant from the Province let's us continue working on our asset management efforts.”

The Ontario Community Infrastructure Fund's total investment in small and rural communities this year is $200 million.
