Private Members Bills (PMBs)
1) Terrorist Activities Sanctions Act (Second Reading)
The Terrorist Activities Sanctions Act, if passed, would remove the eligibility of convicted terrorists for: a hunting or fishing licence, health insurance benefits, subsidized housing, a drivers' licence, disability income support and more.
2) Bill 220, Murray Whetung Community Service Award Act (First Reading)
The Murray Whetung Community Service Award Act (named in honour of WWII Murray Whetung of Curve Lake First Nation), if passed, would create an annual award for a nominated cadet from within each local branch to celebrate their remarkable acts of citizenship.
3) Special Hockey Day (Royal Assent)
The Bill proclaimed March 27, 2019 as Special Hockey Day to coincide with the start of the 25th annual Special Hockey International tournament in Toronto.
Create a fully accessible GO Transit express bus route between Peterborough and the proposed Yonge Street subway station with stops at Trent University, the Peterborough Bus Terminal and Sir Sandford Fleming College.
Our community is facing a crisis; too many lives are lost from opioid use. Our work to establish a consumption and treatment will help deal with this crisis at the source.
3) Addiction Detox Services for Peterborough and surrounding area (Project)
MPP Dave Smith is working closely with the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Mental Health and Addictions and local service to providers with the goal of creating a unique array of detox services to bolster efforts at combatting the opioid crisis and move people from dependency on illicit substances to health and independent lives. More details will come as they are finalized.
